Some shapes don't need explaining - they've been with us too long for that. I made this piece for the people who feel something when they see a spiral, even if they can't say exactly what. The pendant is formed from a single continuous strip of copper, coiled by hand from the center outward, the same way this symbol has been shaped for thousands of years.
Copper worn close to the chest - against the heart - is something people have done across every civilization I've ever read about, and the ones who come back to me say they stopped noticing what they used to notice.
This is one of the last necklaces I'll make before I close my workshop for good. I hope it finds the neck that needs it.
